Why God is pro-choice

No, no. I haven't become a theist all of a sudden. And I'm quite sure no theist would claim God to be pro-choice either. However, when we assume Theists are correct about God's existence and we look at God's nature, as we're told it applies, then God has to be pro-choice. There is no other conclusion to be made. God is pro-choice

.God is often invoked in the abortion debate, especially when discussing it with Americans conservatives. Which is expected as there still is quite a large conservative Chritian population there.

When discussing the topic, often the bible is adressed, by both the pro-life side as the pro-choice side. The pro-choice side does look at all kinds of bible verses to illustrate that God is pro-choice or even pro-abortion, in an attempt to disqualify God and his morality as a vali argument against abortion.

Often Numbers 5 is mentioned where a man suspects his wife has cheated on him, so he takes his wife to his priest and the priest makes the wife drink a potion. If the woman has cheated on her husband, then the potion, which is cursed by God, will 'make her womb miscarry'. Which could mean that if the wife got pregnant from cheating, the pregnancy would be aborted by drinking the potion.

Although I do find this a compelling argument, it's not the reason for me to say that God is pro-choice. None of the bible verses really say that God is pro-choice, even when it does make it seem that way. Several bible verses do indicate that God has no problem with the killing of children. However, I'm more inclined to look at it from a different angle.

God's nature and humans free will

God is described as being 'omnipresent, omnipotent & omniscient'. And the omniscient part is where the crux of the issue lies. God is supposed to be 'all knowing'. This is an absolute statement. Exceptions can not apply to it.Therefor God must know everything. Past, present AND future.

So, let's move back to before God made Eve. Before God made Eve, he already knew that humans would perform abortions. If he was against abortion, then God could have made it physically impossible for humans to reproduce in any manner that would allow for pregnancies to be aborted. Which he did not. God knew humans would perform abortions if he created Eve in the way he supposedly did. So, by default you can argue that God is okay with abortion.

Obviously I know theists will not agree with this. They will say that "God gave us free will and he can not do anything that violates our free will". Which is a nice argument, but it's still wrong. Mainly because physical inabilities do not violate free will. Free will is the ability to act as one pleases within their natural physical capabilities. Only when another being forcing its will on you would violate your free will.

This means making it by nature physically impossible to have an abortion would not violate our free will. Since God alledgedly did make it possible for humans to have abortions, while he had the knowledge that this is exactly what would happen, we can only conclude that God is okay with humans aborting their pregnancies.

A good counter argument to the theists argument is that God would have also known that humans one day would want to fly. Yet, he failed to give us wings. So, when we uphold the argument of "Disallowing humans to have an abortion by making it physically impossible to do so would violate our free will" the theist would have to explain how "Disallowing humans to fly by physically making it impossible for them to fly" does not violate our free will.

It is logically inconsistent to make abortions physically possible, while making it physically impossible for humans to fly. He could have given us wings, so we could fly like birds, yet he did not do that, while knowing we would want to. So, if disallowing humans to have an abortion by making it physically impossible violates our free will, then disallowing humans to fly like birds by making that physically impossible also violates our free will.

Apparently God is more upset about humans flying than he is about humans ending their preganacies through abortion.
